PASSING OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

It is with great sadness that Absa Group Limited's board of directors ("the Board") informs
shareholders, in accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the Equity Listings Requirements and 6.42
of the Debt and Specialist Securities Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, of the passing of
Ms Luisa Diogo, who was an independent non-executive director on the Board, on Friday, 16
January 2026.

On behalf of the Board, we express our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Luisa's husband,
Albano Silva, and family.

Luisa joined the Board as an independent non-executive director on 1 September 2023 and was
a member of the Group Risk and Capital Management Committee (GRCMC) and the Social,
Sustainability and Ethics Committee (SSEC). She was the former chair of Absa Bank
Mozambique (2011 to 2024), the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mozambique (2004 to 2010)
and the Minister of Planning and Finance (2000 to 2004).
