TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, a company is required to publish a trading statement
as soon as it becomes reasonably certain that the financial results for the next period to be reported
on will differ by at least 20% or more from those of the previous corresponding period.
For the financial year ended 31 March 2024, shareholders are advised that:
• basic earnings per share is expected to be 401.80 cents per share (March 2023: basic loss
1 284.90 per share); and
• headline earnings per share is expected to be 334.50 cents (March 2023: headline loss
708.80 per share).
The increase in earnings is mainly attributable to an improvement in prices in the Group's sugar cane
and banana operations, as well as a reduction in fertilizer and other agricultural input costs,
compared to the previous corresponding period.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based is the responsibility of the directors
of the Company and has not been reviewed or reported on by the Group's independent external
auditor.
The Company's results for the year ended 31 March 2024 will be published on or about 28 June 2024.
