TRANSNET’S REVIEWED FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED
30 SEPTEMBER 2021


Transnet refers to the SENS of 12 November 2021, the financial results for the six months ended
30 September 2021 have been reviewed by the statutory auditors of the Company and have been
made available on the Company’s website:

Salient features and performance highlights of Transnet’s reviewed financial results for the six
months ended 30 September 2021 versus 30 September 2020

    •   Revenue increased by 10,5% from R32,0 billion to R35,4 billion
    •   EBITDA up by 35,0% from R9,8 billion to R13,3 billion
    •   Net Loss of R78 million narrowing down from a net loss of R3,4 billion
    •   Cash generated from operations after working capital changes of R18,5 billion
    •   Gearing of 46,6% and cash interest cover (including working capital changes) of 2,6 times
    •   Capital investment to sustain and expand operations of R5,7 billion
    •   Debt Service of R15,4 billion in capital repayments and interest paid.

The Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) has issued an unmodified review report. Any reference
to future financial performance included in Transnet’s financial results for the six months ended
30 September 2021 have not been reviewed or reported on by the Company’s statutory auditors.
