APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In compliance with JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are
advised that Mr Ian Kirk will join the Board as a non-executive
director, effective 1 October 2020.

Ian Kirk has extensive strategic and operational experience in
insurance and financial services, both in South Africa and
internationally. His experience includes strategy development,
business transformation, M&A and corporate leadership, as well as
audit and advisory.

Ian’s career in the insurance sector stretches over twenty-five
years – in his most recent role, he served since 2015 as group
chief executive of Sanlam Limited. Previous executive roles
include that as chief executive of Santam and of Capital Alliance,
as well as deputy CEO of Liberty Group.

Ian qualified as a CA(SA) and is a member of the South African
Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also holds an HDip BDP and
FCA (Ireland). Prior to entering the insurance sector he worked
as a partner and leader of the insurance practice at
PriceWaterhouse.

Ian has chaired various insurance industry associations, and was
a director of the South African Insurance Association. He is
currently a member of the Presidential State-owned Enterprise
Council.

Ian will serve as a member of the JSE’s Group Risk Management
Committee, Group Human Resources Committee and Group Deal
Committee as from 1 October 2020.
