DISCLOSURE OF SIGNIFICANT HOLDING OF MR PRICE GROUP ORDINARY SHARES

In accordance with paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements and section 122(3) of the
Companies Act 71 of 2008 (“the Act”), shareholders are advised that the Company has received formal
notification that Public Investment Corporation SOC Limited (“PIC”) has increased its holding in the Company,
such that the total interest in the ordinary shares of Mr Price Group held by PIC now amounts to 15.027% of
the ordinary issued shares of the Company.

As required in terms of section 122(3)(a) of the Act, the Company has filed the required notices with the
Takeover Regulation Panel.

The board of directors of Mr Price Group accepts responsibility for the information contained in this
announcement as it relates to the Company and confirms that, to the best of its knowledge and belief,
the information supplied by PIC relating to the Company is complete and consistent and that this
announcement does not omit anything likely to affect the importance of such information.
