PASSING OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – ERROL MELVILLE KRUGER

The Board of Directors of Capital Appreciation Limited are deeply saddened to report the sudden passing of
Errol Melville Kruger. Errol Kruger was an extraordinary and distinguished corporate leader, with an
impeccable record of sound judgement and governance, always faithfully directed by the most noble of
principles.

He was an inspiration to his Board colleagues, including management, having a captivating personality and
always generously providing advice and counsel through his vast business experiences.

Errol had a long and distinguished career, serving as Registrar of Banks, Chairman, Director and CEO of
leading South African financial institutions as well as Managing Director of Supervision and Authorisation at
the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority. Errol contributed in a material manner to the South African
banking system successfully navigating the Global Financial Crisis of 2008 and he was awarded the Risk
Manager of the Year award in 2010 by the South African Institute of Risk Management.

A legend of a man has left us, a true patriot and a man of integrity and honour. Rest in peace, you will be
sadly missed.
