VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT: ACQUISITION OF BALKANS-BASED SPECIALIST
CYBERSECURITY DISTRIBUTOR REAL SECURITY
Introduction
Datatec, the international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company,
announces that its subsidiary Westcon-Comstor has acquired REAL Security, a value-
added cybersecurity distributor headquartered in Maribor, Slovenia, thereby establishing a
strategic foothold for Westcon-Comstor in the Balkans region.
Founded in 2002, REAL Security operates across Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania and North Macedonia, connecting
leading and emerging cybersecurity vendors with value-added resellers, managed service
providers and managed security service providers. REAL Security is recognised for its
technical expertise and strong partner and vendor relationships, and hosts the region's
annual RISK cybersecurity conference.
The acquisition expands Westcon-Comstor's European footprint and adds proven local
capability in a high-growth cybersecurity market. By combining REAL Security's
established regional position with Westcon-Comstor's global scale and enablement
capabilities, Datatec expects the transaction to support accelerated growth and broaden
partner success across the region.
Effective date
The acquisition of REAL Security became effective on 27 January 2026, being the date
upon which the conditions precedent were met.

Regulatory Disclosure
This announcement is made on a voluntary basis as the acquisition does not meet the
thresholds for categorisation in terms of the JSE Listings Requirements and is therefore
not subject to approval by Datatec shareholders.
