Operational update for the four months ended October 2026

This voluntary announcement serves to update shareholders on the Group's first four-month period ended October 2026 ("the four months", "the period").

The period under review has been extended from our previous first quarter reporting (i.e. first three months) to reflect the most up to date metrics
ahead of market engagements before entering closed period next month.

The table below outlines Group sales growth and sales growth by operating segment:

Sales growth from continuing operations for the four months ended October 2026 over the corresponding four months Change
ended October 2025 %

Supermarkets RSA 7.1
Supermarkets Non-RSA 7.0
Other operating segments (1.5)

On a net basis, the Group opened 71 stores during the period. The majority of these, a net 61 stores, were opened in our core Supermarkets RSA segment
which forms the foundation of our Group ecosystem strategy.

Supermarkets RSA
The Group's core Supermarkets RSA segment, the majority of which is represented by our food retail operations Shoprite, Usave, Checkers, Checkers Hyper
and LiquorShop increased sales for the four months by 7.1%.

Internal selling price inflation has remained in line with the 0.6% previously reported for July 2026, measuring 0.7% for the four-month period.

For the first three months (July-September 2026), being the period for which market share data is available at the time of reporting, the segment's
sales growth exceeded that of Rest-of-Market by 5.3 percentage points, as measured by NielsenIQ(*).

With internal selling price inflation remaining low and our price-fighting Shoprite brand continuing to experience overall deflation, the segment
continues to benefit from the positive mix effect resulting from Checkers and Checkers Hyper's leading sales growth, supported by the Group's
on-demand digital commerce platform Sixty60, which increased sales by 33.4% for the four months.

In addition, the business remains well positioned from a cost management perspective, including in respect of lease liability finance charge
growth, while strong cash generation continues to support lower net borrowing costs.

Supermarkets RSA opened a net of 61 stores during the period (71 openings, 10 closures) with new store openings made up of 32 supermarkets
(12 Shoprite, 11 Usave, eight Checkers, one Checkers Hyper), 21 LiquorShops and 18 adjacent formats (seven Petshop Science, 10 Uniq Clothing
by Checkers, one Checkers Outdoor).

(*) Source: NielsenIQ, 13 weeks, September 2026 incl. liquor. Rest of Market universe includes Pick n Pay, Boxer, Spar, Clicks, Woolworths,
Dis-Chem, Food Lover's Market, Game, PEP, KitKat Express and online, OK Foods, Makro online, Takealot.com, Rhino and Cambridge Foods.

Supermarkets Non-RSA
The Group's Supermarkets Non-RSA operating segment, trading from seven countries outside of South Africa, increased sale of merchandise for the
four months by 4.3% in constant currency and by 7.0% in our reporting currency, the rand.

Supermarkets Non-RSA opened two new LiquorShop stores during the period.

Other operating segments
Following the previously disclosed mutual termination of a franchise agreement during our second half 2026 financial year, 51 stores were closed,
impacting sales to the OK Franchise division and contributing to a 1.5% decline in sales for the period for the Group's Other operating segments.
Notwithstanding the decline in sales, as a result of the store closures, OK Franchise trading profit growth is positive.

The OK Franchise division opened a net of five stores during the period, ending with 578 stores.

Sales from our pharmacy business (Medirite, Medirite Plus and Transpharm) increased by 17.6%:
- Medirite and Medirite Plus increased sales by 9.7% for the four months, ending the period with 112 in-store Medirite dispensaries and
25 Medirite Plus stand-alone retail pharmacy stores.
- Transpharm, the Group's pharmaceutical distributor, increased sales by 21.3%.

Additional information
The sale of the South African Furniture division remains subject to approval by the Competition Tribunal.

Next reporting date
The Group intends to issue its 2027 interim period sales update ahead of the end February 2027 release of its 2027 interim results. Further details
in terms of reporting dates, as they are finalised, will be available on the Group's Shareholder diary on the Group's corporate website.
