CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listing Requirements, the following information is disclosed:
The FirstRand board is pleased to announce that Mr Thomas Winterboer has been appointed as an independent non-
executive director of FirstRand Limited and its wholly-owned subsidiary, FirstRand Bank Limited (the boards).
Mr Winterboer brings to the boards a wealth of experience, having spent a large part of his professional career as an
audit firm partner serving clients in the financial services sector. The Office of the Registrar of Banks (now the
Prudential Authority) has confirmed that it has no objection to the appointment of Mr Thomas Winterboer to the boards,
with effect from 20 April 2018.
FirstRand further wishes to announce that Patrick Maguire Goss will retire as an independent non-executive director
and Paul Kenneth Harris will retire as non-executive director, effective 30 April 2018.
Mr Harris was a founder of FirstRand and served first as CEO of FirstRand Bank and then as CEO of FirstRand
Limited until his retirement in 2009 whereafter he became a non-executive director of the boards. Mr Goss served as
an independent non-executive director of the boards from 1998.
The FirstRand board would like to thank Messrs Goss and Harris for their long and distinguished service to the group.
