FOURTH QUARTER OPERATIONAL UPDATE – FY 2018
Cashbuild herewith provides its voluntary quarterly operational update.
Revenue for the fourth quarter for the Cashbuild Group was up 4% on the fourth quarter of the prior financial
year, with the 42 new stores opened or acquired since 1 July 2016 contributing 5% of the increase, whilst the
276 existing stores decreased by 1%. The growth for the fourth quarter together with the growth of the
previous quarters, equates to an increase in revenue for the Cashbuild Group of 5% for the financial year, with
new stores contributing 5% of the increase and existing stores remaining at similar levels.
Transactions through the tills during the fourth quarter for the Cashbuild Group increased by 1% to that of the
comparative period, with new stores contributing 5% of the increase whilst existing stores decreased by 4%.
Selling inflation was 2% at the end of June 2018 when compared to June 2017. Gross profit margin percentage
remained at similar levels to those reported at half year end.

During the fourth quarter, the Group added three new stores (one Cashbuild and two P&L Hardware stores),
relocated two Cashbuild stores and refurbished 16 Cashbuild stores, bringing the total number of stores trading
at the end of the quarter to 318.
