TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE TWELVE MONTH PERIOD “(YEAR)” ENDED 29 FEBRUARY 2020 AND
NOTICE OF POSSIBLE RELIANCE ON MARKET NOTICE


In terms of the JSE Listings Requirements, companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as
they are satisfied, with a reasonable degree of certainty, that the financial results of the period to be reported
upon will differ by 20% or more from the financial results of the previous corresponding period.

The Company expects earnings per share (“EPS”) to be between 318.2 cents and 362.4 cents per share
(2019: 221.0 cents per share) reflecting an increase of between 44% and 64% on the previous year.

The Company expects headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) to be between 323.1 cents and 369.9 cents per
share (2019: 234.1 cents per share) reflecting an increase of between 38% and 58% on the previous year.

Afrimat experienced a stable performance in the Construction Materials segment, strong growth from the
Industrial Minerals businesses and a healthy contribution from the Demaneng iron ore mine. Afrimat will
release a further trading statement providing more accurate parameters early in May 2020.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed nor reported on by
the Company’s auditors. The Company’s external audit is currently in progress and the financial results are
expected to be released on or about 22 May 2020. No delays are expected however Shareholders are advised
that the Company will be placing reliance on the Market Notice issued by the JSE and will be utilising the two-
month extension in order to finalise the year-end financial results in the event that the Covid-19 lock down is
extended.
