Afrimat supports and complies with the president and South African government’s stringent measures in place to overcome this virus. As a result, the majority of Afrimat’s operations will cease all operations and trading, and the Company is putting measures in place to ensure the safe resumption of operations post the lock down period. Certain critical operations within our industrial mineral cluster, will be allowed to stay open as it supplies critical chemicals to the water and sanitation industries. In line with World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines and national government guidance, Afrimat will continue to strengthen precautionary measures to ensure that its employees are able to work safely. The Company continues to closely monitor the latest guidance from the health authorities. To date there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in any of Afrimat’s operations. The Company’s balance sheet remain strong and the Company will meet all necessary responsibilities and obligations during the lockdown period. The effects of the Coronavirus are changing rapidly and the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic cannot be reasonably estimated at this time.
