CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE PUBLIC CENSURE INSTITUTED BY THE
JSE LIMITED
Shareholders are referred to the public censure announcement
released by the JSE at 07h05 today, 16 March 2020, regarding the
2018 Annual Financial Statements and the restatement of
previously published results.
At the time, the company self-corrected and these corrections
were disclosed to all shareholders. Moreover, the company
notified the JSE and voluntarily suspended the trading of its
securities during October 2018 in order to avoid any harm or
prejudice to its shareholders. All steps taken by the company in
the circumstances, were taken with full appreciation of the
critical importance of accurate and reliable financial
information being published.
The company and the board of directors also took immediate steps
at the time to implement additional measures and processes in
order to prevent any similar re-occurrences in the future. The
company and the board of directors accept the decision of the
JSE.
