                                                  SOUTH32 APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR

South32 Limited (ASX / LSE / JSE: S32; ADR: SOUHY) (South32) today announces the appointment of independent Non-Executive
Director, Sinead Kaufman, to the South32 Board.

Sinead will join the Board on 1 April 2026 and will seek election by shareholders at the 2026 Annual General Meeting.

Sinead has 30 years' experience in the resources industry across a range of commodities, including copper, aluminium, bauxite,
diamonds, coal and iron ore, in both underground and open pit environments. Since joining Rio Tinto in 1997, she has held a number
of senior leadership positions, most recently as Chief Executive Minerals where she led a diverse product group and operations
around the world. Prior to this, Sinead held Managing Director roles within Rio Tinto, including across its copper operations in North
America and coal operations in Australia.

South32 Chair Karen Wood said "Sinead is an accomplished senior executive with a strong operational background and track record
in leading complex operations. Her vast international experience will bring significant value to our Board as we focus on strengthening
operating performance and advancing our base metal growth options."

Sinead Kaufman biography

Sinead Kaufman has 30 years' international experience in the resources sector, spanning a range of commodities including copper,
diamonds, aluminium, bauxite and iron ore.

She joined Rio Tinto in 1997 as a geologist and went on to hold a number of senior leadership positions, including Chief Executive
Minerals from 2021. Prior to this, she was the Managing Director – Copper and Diamonds, and also Managing Director – Coal, Salt &
Uranium where she oversaw the divestment of Rio Tinto's Hunter Valley and Queensland coal operations in Australia.

Born in Ireland, Sinead holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Birmingham and a Master of Science in Mineral
Exploration from the University of Leicester.
