UPDATE REGARDING NKOMATI

Shareholders are advised that there have been a number of developments during October 2019 that
may impact production at Nkomati. These events involve:

    •   a four stage fall of ground event in Nkomati’s underground mine that will impact underground
        mining production in the short to medium term; and

    •   the business rescue practitioner of Liviero Mining, the opencast mining contractor at Nkomati,
        has informed us that he will proceed with the application for liquidation of Liviero Mining. This
        could result in production disruption at the opencast mine in the short term.

Shareholders will be updated further in due course.
