OFFERINGS WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF AN EXPERT SCIENTIFIC, MEDICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL ADVISORY BOARD
Labat Healthcare is a data driven company, leading the charge of the Repositioning Strategy of the
JSE and FSE listed Labat Africa. Labat Healthcare’s market proposition is characterised by the design
of its vertically integrated medicinal Cannabis value chain, discerningly focused on how THC, CBD
and all the other Cannabinoids, of Cannabis Sativa chemo-vars and cultivars are released into
society. With the many commercially viable and health and wellness propositions, the Company sees
these compounds appear today in a variety of protocols and packaged formulations, as well as in
specifically regulated and measured dosages for prescriptions, for customers facing lifestyle retail
offerings for wellness, through delivery systems in pharmaceutical science, clinical pharmacology
and medical care.
A high priority resolution was passed at the Labat Africa 2021 Strategic Planning Summit held in the
Free State, for the establishment of the Labat Healthcare Scientific, Medical and Pharmaceutical
Advisory Board (SMP Advisory Board). This SMP Advisory Board is designated to cover scientific and/or
healthcare-related issues.
The SMP Advisory Board will support and strengthen Labat Healthcare’s delivery and integration of
its Integrated Cannabis Value Chain. The SMP Advisory Board will aid in traversing and understanding
crucial factors in relation to the external environment, therapeutic areas, data management and
the use of products approved or in development, clinical and medical asset strategies, or unmet
medical needs across the global sphere.
Labat Healthcare has approached several leading scientists, academics, and medical professionals
and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a leading University in Cape Town,
South Africa. The Labat Healthcare SMP Advisory Board boasts leading experts with credentials that
are acknowledged and regarded internationally, with impressive track records of publications in
science, medical research, technical chemical engineering and healthcare.
As Labat Africa expands its Value Chain, it is particularly important to have legitimacy of the
meticulously measured research outcomes in order for the Company’s commercial roadmap to
have sustainability in the newly targeted markets in Europe, especially Germany where the Company
is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and Australia, where Labat Africa’s current export of high
THC Cannabis flower is being dispensed.
SMP Advisory Board Terms of Reference
The SMP Advisory Board provides advice to Labat Healthcare on pharmaceutical science and
clinical pharmacology issues. Whilst the SMP Advisory Board provides Labat Africa with advice and
recommendations, the decision-making responsibility remains with the Board of Labat Healthcare.
The Terms of Reference for the SMP Advisory Board were accepted by Labat Africa’s Executive
Committee on 1 June 2022.
Mandate
The SMP Advisory Board provides Labat Healthcare with timely scientific, technical and clinical
advice on pharmaceutical science, clinical pharmacology issues affecting data and research
requirements for new formulations of, for example, pharmaceutical equivalence for generic drug
products, new salts, complex formulations, finished products, amongst other.
