NOTIFICATION OF CHANGE IN BENEFICIAL INTEREST

In compliance with Section 122(3) (b) of the Companies Act, 2008 (Act 71 of 2008), as amended ("Companies
Act") and paragraph 3.83(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE, shareholders are advised that Royal
Bafokeng Investment Holding Company (Pty) Ltd (RBHIC) has disposed of a beneficial interest in the securities
of the Company, such that the total interest in the ordinary shares of the company held by RBHIC amounts
to 3.481% (previously held 5 % of the total number of securities in issue).

As required in terms of section 122(3) (a) of the Companies Act, Dis-Chem has filed the required notice with
the Takeover Regulation Panel.

The board of directors of Dis-Chem accepts responsibility that the information contained in this
announcement accurately reflects the information contained in the TRP121.1 form received by the Company
from RBHIC and no information has been omitted which is likely to affect such accuracy.
