|FUND OBJECTIVES AND FOCUS|
The Four Plus Capital Fund of Funds aims to provide investors with stable growth of money in excess of inflation. To achieve this the fund invests in the money and share markets. The fund manager moves between these investment types to protect capital and maximise growth (the risks associated with the growth opportunities offered by shares are offset by the stability of the money market). The money market proportion will vary depending on market conditions. Through this strategy, volatility is actively managed in pursuit of inflation-beating growth.
Investors who are concerned about protecting their money, but are willing to take on some risk in order to achieve long term stable growth. These investors understand the volatility associated with investing in shares, but are looking for growth in excess of inflation over the medium term.
This is a moderate risk fund (risk rating 3). The fund is exposed to share price movements, which are affected by the performance of individual companies, general market conditions as well as political and economic changes. Risk is reduced by the following:
a) A portfolio diversified across industries minimises sectoral risks.
b) The risks associated with shares are offset by the stability of the money market.
c) Risk is further countered by a 30% holding in cash. The short term nature of cash reduces the fund's price fluctuations and interest rate risk.
