DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 31 AUGUST 2012

Further to the announcement published on SENS on Tuesday, 7 August 2012, a distribution
comprising only of accrued interest has been declared today, Monday, 3 September 2012 in respect
of the GBP Notes to holders of the GBP Notes for the six months ended 31 August 2012, as follows:

Accrued interest in ZAR per GBP Note: R0.02000

Given that accrued interest in ZAR per Note for the USD Notes and EURO Notes amounts to less
than 1 cent per security for the six months ended 31 August 2012 (being 0.1 cent in respect of the
USD Notes and 0.5 cent in respect of the EURO Notes), investors in the USD Notes and EURO
Notes are advised that, in accordance with the Applicable Terms and Conditions of the NewWave
Currency Pricing Supplements, the accrued interest for these Notes will be carried over to the next
period (the six months ending 28 February 2013). The Redemption Value of each Note will
accordingly reflect any such unpaid accrued interest subject to the Applicable Terms and Conditions.

The distribution in respect of the GBP Notes will be paid on or before 10 September 2012.

Investors are advised that no dividend tax will be applicable to the distribution amount, given that it
comprises interest and not dividends.
