Further to the announcement declaring ordinary dividend 30 released at 0700am UK time
on 18 May 2017, we provide the following additional information for South African
resident shareholders of Investec plc:

   -   Shareholders registered on the South African branch register who are exempt
       from paying the Dividend Tax will receive a net dividend of 225 cents per share
       comprising 121.15385 cents per share paid by Investec Limited on the SA DAS
       share and 103.84615 cents per ordinary share paid by Investec plc.
   -   Shareholders registered on the South African branch register who are not exempt
       from paying the Dividend Tax will receive a net dividend of 180 cents per share
       (gross dividend of 225 cents per share less Dividend Tax of 45 cents per share)
       comprising 96.92308 cents per share paid by Investec Limited on the SA DAS
       share and 83.07692 cents per ordinary share paid by Investec plc.
