TRADING STATEMENT IN RESPECT OF THE SIX MONTH PERIOD ENDED DECEMBER 2012
In terms of paragraph 3.4 (b) of the Listings requirements of the JSE Limited, an issuer is required to
publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a reasonable degree of certainty exists
that the financial results to be reported on next will differ by at least 20% from those of the
previous corresponding period.
The table below sets out guidance for the increase in the Groups earnings per share (EPS),
headline EPS and diluted normalised EPS. As previously communicated to shareholders, FirstRand
considers diluted normalised EPS from continuing operations to most accurately represent
operational performance.
