RETIREMENT AND CHANGE OF ROLE OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In terms of section 3.59(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised
that Mr Jonathan Ackerman will take early retirement from his position as an executive director of
the Pick n Pay Group with effect from 31 March 2023.

The Board extends its sincere appreciation to Jonathan for his dedication and commitment to Pick n Pay.
In a distinguished career with the Group spanning over 30 years, Jonathan has held important leadership
positions across many areas, most notably marketing and store operations. Across all his roles, he has
worked tirelessly as a champion of the customer, and a torchbearer for Pick n Pay’s unique values.

Jonathan will continue to serve the Group on the Board in a non-executive capacity from 1 April 2023
and will serve on Pick n Pay’s Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee from that date.
