(“York” or the “Company”)

DEMAND TO CALL A SHAREHOLDERS MEETING

York shareholders (“Shareholders”) are advised that the board of directors of York (the “Board”)
received a written demand from A2 Investment Partners Proprietary Limited (“A2 Investment”) on
behalf of A2 Investment and Peresec Prime Brokers Proprietary Limited (“Peresec”) to call a
Shareholders meeting (“Meeting”) in terms of section 61(3) of the Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008
(“Demand”).

In terms of the Demand, the specific purpose for which A2 Investment and Persec have proposed
the Meeting is for A2 Investment and Peresec to propose resolutions in respect of the election, by
Shareholders, of additional directors to the Board, being:

-     Mr Adrian Steven Zetler, as a non-executive director of the Company, with effect from the
      date of the Meeting; and
-     Mr Andre van der Veen, as a non-executive director of the Company, with effect from the
      date of the Meeting,

collectively, the “Proposed Directors”.

Further details, including the relevant curriculum vitae, in respect of the Proposed Directors will be
set out in the notice convening the Meeting (“Notice”).

The Board will issue the Notice in due course, whereupon Shareholders will be advised of, inter
alia, the posting date of the Notice and the date of the Meeting.
