Change to the board of directors

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Kumba is pleased to announce
the appointment of Ms Montsheng Josephine Tsele as a non-executive director to the board, with effect from 30
April 2021.

Ms Tsele will represent the Industrial Development Corporation ("IDC") on the board. She currently fulfils the role
of Chief Risk Officer at the IDC and is responsible for enterprise-wide risk management. She previously worked
in the banking sector and has occupied various roles since 1996, working predominantly in the risk
management divisions of a number of South African investment banks and development finance institutions. Ms
Tsele has diverse experience which covers key sectors of the economy such as power, infrastructure,
construction, mining, FMCG and ICT. She further has experience in country risk management, structured trade
and in bank counterparty assessments. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in Economics and
Government.

Dr Mandla Gantsho, Chairman of Kumba Iron Ore, commented: "On behalf of the Board, we welcome Ms Tsele
