CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS


RESIGNATION OF FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

In compliance with section 3.59 of the Listing Requirements of JSE Limited,
the Board of Directors of Basil Read (“the Board”) announces that it has
received and accepted Ms Amanda Wightman’s resignation as Chief Financial
Officer and Finance Director of the Company with effect from 30 September
2016. Mr Paul Baloyi, the Chairman of the Board thanks Ms Wightman on
behalf of the directors and the staff for her contribution as Director of
the Company and wishes her well in her future endeavours.


APPOINTMENT OF FINANCIAL DIRECTOR


The Board of Directors of Basil Read is pleased to announce the appointment
of Talib Sadik as the Chief Financial Officer and Financial Director of the
Company with effect from 1 October 2016.

Mr Sadik brings 23 years of financial leadership experience, having
previously been the Group Financial Director of Times Media Limited, De
Beers Group Services and Denel SOC Ltd. He is a chartered accountant with
more than 27 years of experience.

The Chairman of the Board, Mr Paul Baloyi, welcomed Mr Sadik’s appointment
saying: “We are delighted to welcome a well – rounded and seasoned
executive with financial leadership experience to Basil Read. The Board
looks forward to working with Sadik to inject new energy into our efforts,
as we continuously improve business performance and the strategic
transformation of the Company”.
