APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Shareholders are advised of the following new independent non-executive appointments to the Boards of
Barclays Africa Group and Absa Bank: Ms Dhanasagree (Daisy) Naidoo has been appointed to the Board
of Barclays Africa Group and Ms Tasneem Abdool-Samad has been appointed to the Board of Absa Bank,
both with effect from 17 May 2016.
Daisy Naidoo holds a BCom, CA(SA) and Masters in Taxation from the University of Natal (Durban). She is
an independent non-executive director of Strate (Pty) Limited, Hudaco Industries Limited, Omnia Holdings
Limited, Mr Price Group Limited and Anglo American Platinum Limited. Daisy is the former head of the
debt structuring unit at Sanlam Capital Markets Limited.
Tasneem Abdool-Samad graduated from the University of Natal, obtaining a BCom. She is a CA(SA). She
is a non-executive director of Reunert Limited and a member of the audit committee of Momentum Health.
Tasneem is a former member of the Deloitte South Africa board.
Chairman Wendy Lucas-Bull welcomed the two new appointees: “We are very pleased to welcome Daisy
and Tasneem to the Barclays Africa Group and Absa Bank Boards respectively and look forward to their
contributions. Their skills and experience will be an asset to our Boards.”
