In accordance with that announcement, headline earnings per share for the financial year ended 28 February 2015 are expected to remain more than 40% lower (less than 113c) as against the previous corresponding period (188c). However and as previously indicated, the company, as part of its year-end audit process, is conducting various impairment tests pursuant to which shareholders are advised that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the company’s basic earnings per share for the financial year ended 28 February 2015 are now expected to be more than 95% lower (less than 10c) (as opposed to the 50% (less than 96c) announced on 22 January 2015) compared to the corresponding period (192c). Accordingly, a further trading statement will be released in due course to, among others, provide shareholders with a business update on the Altron group’s performance, new strategic direction, as well as earnings forecast ranges for basic earnings per share and headline earnings per share as required by the JSE Listings Requirements.
