RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Notifications made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure Rules and
Transparency Rules.

1.   The Company was notified on 15 May 2014 of the following change in the interests in ordinary
     shares of British American Tobacco p.l.c. in respect of the undermentioned Executive Director
     and person discharging managerial responsibility (“PDMR”) arising from the purchase of
     ordinary shares at a price of 3,432.8367 pence per ordinary share on 9 May 2014 through the
     Company’s Dividend Reinvestment Plan (the “DRIP”):

2.   The Company was notified on 14 May 2014 by the trustee of the British American Tobacco
     Employee Share Ownership Plan (the “UK Plan”) that on 9 May 2014 ordinary shares of 25p
     each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the “Shares”) were purchased for the following
     Executive Directors and persons discharging managerial responsibilities (together the
     “Participants”) at a price of 3,432.8367 pence per Share as a result of the reinvestment of
     dividends by the trustee in accordance with the UK Plan.

     The number of Shares purchased by each Participant in the UK Plan was as follows:

     Directors and persons discharging managerial responsibilities (together the “Participants”)
     acquired ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the “Shares”) at a 
     price of 3,432.8367 pence per Share as a result of the reinvestment of the cash equivalent of the
     Company’s 2013 final dividend on shares held on their behalf by Computershare Company
     Nominees Limited as administrator of the Company’s vested share account.

     The number of Shares acquired by each Participant was as follows:
