Scrip dividend ratio Tongaat Hulett Limited (Registration number 1892/000610/06) JSE share code: TON ISIN: ZAE000096541 SCRIP DISTRIBUTION RATIO Further to the announcement of the interim results for the half year ended 30 September 2013, as released on the Securities Exchange News Service of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) on 11 November 2013 and published in the press on 12 November 2013, in which ordinary shareholders (“shareholders”) were notified of the payment of a scrip distribution with a cash dividend alternative, shareholders are hereby advised that the volume weighted average price of ordinary shares on the JSE during the 30- day trading period ended on Thursday, 16 January 2014 was 11 637 cents (R116.37) per share. Accordingly, the number of ordinary shares to which shareholders participating in the scrip distribution will be entitled is determined in the ratio that 150 cents multiplied by a factor of 1,05 bears to 11 637 cents, which equates to 1.35344 new ordinary shares per every 100 ordinary shares held on the record date, being Friday, 31 January 2014. Please note that ordinary shares to be issued in terms of the scrip distribution may not be traded until Thursday, 30 January 2014. Shareholders who wish to receive the cash dividend alternative (a gross cash dividend of 150 cents per ordinary share) must elect to do so by 12:00 (10:00 UK time) on Friday, 31 January 2014, in accordance with the provisions of the circular and form of election which was posted to shareholders on Friday, 10 January 2014.
