APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTORS


In compliance with section 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the board of directors of
Metair (“the Board”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Brand Pretorius as independent
non-executive directors and Mr David Wilson as non-executive directors to the Board with effect
from 1 January 2014.

Mr Pretorius started his career at Toyota South Africa in March 1973. He was appointed as
managing director of Toyota SA Marketing in 1988. In March 1995 he joined McCarthy Motor
Holdings and was promoted to chief executive officer of the holding company, McCarthy Limited, in
October 1999. He retired as an executive director of McCarthy and its controlling shareholder
Bidvest, on 1 March 2011.

Mr Wilson is part of the Strategic Investments team at Royal Bafokeng Holdings Limited. He is a
Chartered Accountant (SA) and has extensive investment banking and corporate finance
experience, having previously worked at Deutsche Bank as a Director and Head of Mergers &
Acquisitions for Sub-Saharan Africa.
