AIP - Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited - Appointment to the board of directors Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited (Registration number 2007/016236/06) (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) Share code: AIP ISIN: ZAE000123436 ("Adcock Ingram") APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised that Mr Paul Mpho Makwana has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Adcock with effect from 1 February 2012. Mpho joined Eskom Holdings Limited ("Eskom") as a Non-Executive Director in July 2002, serving on its Board, Audit Committee and Human Resources Ethics & Remuneration Committee. He later assumed the responsibility of Chairman upon appointment by the Cabinet. Prior to the full-time role of Chairman at Eskom, Mpho held the position of Group executive for Transformation and Corporate Affairs at Edgars Consolidated (Pty) Limited ("Edcon") since 2006. With transformation being a key national priority, he was able to successfully integrate Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment in the Group Strategy of Edcon and ensure successful audits by Ernst & Young for the 2005/06 and 2006/07 financial years. Prior to his appointment at Edcon, Mpho served as a Director for the Polokwane region of Standard Bank Group Limited ("Standard Bank") from 2005 to 2006. He successfully integrated Standard Bank into the macro- economic environment of Limpopo. He established strategic stakeholder relationships between Standard Bank and key stakeholder-bodies, thus ensuring that Standard Bank was a strategic long-term partner and a relevant corporate citizen. Mpho was later assigned a role at Standard Bank Headquarters as the Director: Public Sector Banking. Before his appointment at Standard Bank, Mpho served as the Chief Executive Officer of Marketing Federation of Southern Africa and also worked for the advertising agency Saatchi and Saatchi.
