FRAUDULENT GOLD FIELDS WEBSITES                                                 
Johannesburg, 25 August 2011: Gold Fields Limited (Gold Fields) (JSE, NYSE,     
NASDAQ Dubai: GFI) wants to alert shareholders and other interested parties     
about a number of  websites that use Gold Fields branding and purport to be     
investment vehicles on behalf of the company.                                   
The fraudulent websites that have been brought to our attention include:        
www.goldfields-inc.com; www.goldfields-int.com; www.goldfields-indonesia.com    
and could be part of a number of websites that are unlawfully using Gold        
Fields` trademarks and logos.                                                   
These websites have nothing to do with the business of Gold Fields and the      
company is taking steps to try and stop the unlawful use of Gold Fields`        
trademarks and logos. We urge caution when utilising these websites.            
The only Gold Fields Limited website is:  www.goldfields.co.za.
