OCE/OCG - Oceana Group Limited - Trading Statement Oceana Group Limited (Registration number: 1939/001730/06) JSE Share Code: OCE NSX Share Code: OCG ISIN: ZAE000025284 ("Oceana" or "the Company") TRADING STATEMENT In accordance with paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised that headline earnings per share for the six months ended 31 March 2008 are expected to be between 55% and 65% higher than the comparative figure for the six months ended 31 March 2007. Earnings per share are expected to be between 40% and 50% higher than the comparative figure for the six months ended 31 March 2007. A weaker rand exchange rate, higher selling prices and improved cold storage occupancies are expected to result in improved profitability. The main reason for the differential in the increase in earnings per share and headline earnings per share is that, in the prior year, the former included the profit on disposal of the abalone business, less impairment provisions raised. Shareholders are advised that this increase does not necessarily give an indication of earnings for the full year to 30 September 2008. The rate of growth in earnings in the second half of the year is expected to be lower than in the first half. The forecast financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed and/or reported on by the Company`s auditors.
