Lonmin Plc (the "Company") has been advised by the Chairman of the Board, Sir   
John Craven, that earlier today he sold 63,808 shares in the capital of the     
Company, at a price of 3403.2116 pence per share. He retains a holding of 30,000
shares.                                                                         
The Company has also been advised by the Deputy Chairman of the Board, Roger    
Phillimore, that earlier today he sold 15,212 shares in the capital of the      
Company, at a price of 3397 pence per share.   He retains a holding of 3,614    
shares.                                                                         
Both directors have advised the Company that the transactions were entered into 
in the light of the 80% increase in the rate of Capital Gains Tax following the 
ending of the current UK taper relief rules on 6 April 2008.
