CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS                                                
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, FirstRand advises the 
following change to the board:                                                  
Ms Tandi Nzimande is appointed to the board of FirstRand Limited as a non-      
executive director with effect from 28 February 2008.                           
Ms Nzimande replaces Ms Sonja Sebotsa who resigned as a director on 31 December 
2007.  Ms Nzimande will represent the WDB Trust, a participant in the FirstRand 
Empowerment Trust.
