EASTERN PLATINUM LIMITED CHANGE IN ACCOUNTING REFERENCE DATE
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 21, 2008) - The Board of Eastern
Platinum Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX:ELR)(AIM:ELR)(JSE:EPS) announces that
following the approval by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting
on 4 October 2007, the Company has changed its year end to December 31 from its
current year end date of June 30.
The reasons for the change to the Company`s year end to December 31 is to
conform to calendar quarters, to align the Company`s earnings periods to other
companies in the mining sector and for clarification of reporting
periods to the investment community.
Based on a change of year end from June 30 to December 31, the Company will have
a transition year of 6 months, from July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. The
preliminary announcement of the results for the 6 month transition period will
be made on or around March 27, 2008. The Company`s new financial year will
commence on January 1, 2008 and end on December 31, 2008.
