Eastplats is engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and mining of platinum group metal (PGM) deposits in South Africa.The company's entry into the South African PGM mining sector was via the acquisition of a PGM exploration company on the eastern limb of the Bushveld Igneous Complex in January 2004, which was followed by the successful bid for the Mareesburg property.
