In accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended) Lonmin Plc has
today been notified by Prudential Plc that as at 3 January 2007 their interest  
in the Company`s share capital has decreased to 21,360,284 ordinary shares of   
US$1 each representing 13.83% of the issued share capital of the Company.       
Certain subsidiary companies of Prudential Plc have notifiable interests in some
or all of these shares, none of which exceeds the number in which the parent    
company is interested.
