Tawana Resources NL - Blacktop results update Tawana Resources NL (Incorporated in Australia) (Registration number ACN 085 166 721) Share code on the JSE Limited: TAW & ISIN: AU000000TAW7 Share code on the Australian Stock Exchange Limited: TAW & ISIN: AU000000TAW7 ("Tawana" or "the Company") Blacktop Results Update Key Points Blacktop kimberlite 1688 diamonds (117 carats) to 10 November DMS processing completed Processing and concentrate analysis to continue into 2007 Pilbara Regional Exploration Kimberlitic indicators recovered from Blacktop East Blacktop Kimberlite Project (Tawana 50% and operator /De Beers Australia Exploration 50%) The dense media separation (DMS) plant was commissioned on 8 September 2006, and processing on site of 6,000 tonnes of kimberlite from Blacktop 1 was completed on 6 November 2006. Approximately 62 tonnes of concentrate was produced. The DMS concentrates are screened, packed and sealed on site and transported to Perth where the concentrates are being passed through a Flowsort X-Ray recovery unit. The resulting concentrates from the Flowsort unit are sent to Tawana"s laboratory in Melbourne for diamond recovery. As at 10 November, 1,688 diamonds weighing 117 carats were recovered from 25 tonnes of Flowsort concentrate. It is expected that the remaining 37 tonnes of DMS concentrates will be processed through the Flowsort and examined for diamonds by the end of Q1 2007. The majority of the diamonds recovered to date are white dodecahedrons, with the largest stone weighing 1.28 carats. All diamonds are in the size fraction +1mm to -19mm. A summary of the production statistics for the processing of the Blacktop 1 bulk sample to 10 November are shown in Table 1. Table1. We look forward to the results of the remainder of the concentrate so that we can get the diamonds valued and determine the grade and potential economics of the deposit." Pilbara Regional Exploration (Tawana 50% and operator /De Beers Australia Exploration 50%) Sampling of the Blacktop East anomaly located approximately 8km to the east of the Blacktop 1 kimberlite dyke has confirmed the presence of kimberlitic indicator minerals. The minerals are present over approximately 3 km of strike length and are considered by Tawana management to indicate the location of an extension to the Blacktop 1 kimberlite. 16 November 2006 Contact: Tawana: Wolf Marx Basil Tambanis Tel: +61 (0)3 98635222 Tel: +61 (0)3 98635222 Mob: +61 (0)428 398446 Mob: +61 (0)414 434339 Email:wolf.marx@tawana.com.au. basil.tambanis@tawana.com.au Sponsor: PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance (Pty) Limited All press releases and announcements may be inspected on the Company"s web site, namely: www.tawana.com.au Date: 16/11/2006 08:55:10 AM Supplied by www.sharenet.co.za Produced by the JSE SENS Department
