     The Company was today notified that on 23 August 2006 the trustee of the   
     Lonmin Plc Employee Benefit Trust ("Trust") purchased in London 326 Lonmin 
Plc Ordinary Shares of US$1 each ("Shares") at a price of GBP28.48 per     
     Share and purchased an additional 18 Shares today in Johannesburg each at a
     price of ZAR 380.00.  These Shares were purchased following the            
     reinvestment of dividends paid to the Trust on behalf of participants of   
the Deferred Annual Bonus Plan.   259 of these Shares were purchased on    
     behalf of the director and PDMRs listed below.

     Following these purchases, the Trust holds a total of 255,131 Shares in the
Company in which each of the executive directors and PDMRs of the Company  
     are deemed to have a beneficial interest (to the extent of their           
     participation in certain of the Company"s share schemes) and a non-        
     beneficial interest in the balance.                                        
The above information has been disclosed in accordance with DR 3.1.4 R (1) 
     and, where applicable, in accordance with section 324 (as extended by      
     section 328) of the Companies Act 1985.
