Lonmin Plc was yesterday notified by Threadneedle Asset Management Holdings     
Limited, on behalf of American Express Company and its group, that following a  
group restructuring, American Express Company and its group no longer hold a    
notifiable interest in the issued share capital of the Company and that its     
former interest in 16,912,041 shares of US$1 each of the Company (equating to   
11.90% of the Company"s issued share capital), as notified on 28 September 2005,
is now held by Ameripise Financial Inc.
