RICK HOGBEN TO LEAD AFROX ANOTHER YEAR                                          
Rick Hogben, chief executive of African Oxygen Limited (Afrox) has accepted the 
Board"s invitation to extend his tenure as chief executive of Afrox by a year.  
He will now retire in March 2007.                                               
Hogben joined Afrox Healthcare Limited in 1994 as business manager healthcare   
services.  In 1999 he was appointed as managing director of Afrox Healthcare,   
and in October 2001 he became managing director and chief executive of Afrox.   
Afrox is a subsidiary of The BOC Group plc.  Announcing the extended retirement 
date, Kent Masters, Afrox chairman and chief executive of BOC"s Industrial &    
Special Products line of business said:  "Rick Hogben has led Afrox since       
October 2001 with distinction, and has set the company on a path of growth and  
financial performance."                                                         
Hogben will bring stability and management continuity to the company following  
the R3,4 billion sale of Afrox Healthcare to a BEE consortium and will continue 
to direct the company"s growth.
