Management Changes                                                              
Lonmin Plc announced today that Peter Ledger had informed the Group of his      
intention to retire as President of its Platinum Group and that he will not be  
seeking re-election to the Board at the Annual General Meeting next January.    
Lonmin"s Chief Executive Brad Mills said: "Peter has delivered excellent        
operating results over the last 17 years with Lonmin and he has our gratitude   
and best wishes.  He has decided to take a sabbatical from next March after     
which he may rejoin Lonmin in a new role."                                      
Other organisational changes below Board level are that Stompie Shiels will be  
taking up the position of Vice President - Technical and Project Services -     
Platinum Operations, effective immediately.                                     
Ben Moolman will with immediate effect be promoted from his current position as 
General Manager - Karee Mine to replace Stompie as Vice President - Mines -     
Platinum Operations.                                                            
Ricus Grimbeek will be promoted to Vice President - SHEC - Platinum Operations. 
These and other changes in management positions will open up a number of        
opportunities to appoint HDSA individuals to senior management positions over   
the coming months.
