Aspen COO to leave                                                              
JSE-listed Aspen Pharmacare, South Africa"s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer,
hereby announces the resignation of Linda Philip, Aspen Group Operations, Chief 
Operating Officer.                                                              
Linda joined Aspen in March 2001 with the proviso that she would only be        
available for a three year period. As such in August 2003, notification was     
tabled to the Board of Linda"s departure at the end of July 2004.               
"During Linda"s tenure at Aspen she has fulfilled her role with tireless        
passion, assisting to position Aspen as the continent"s leading pharmaceutical  
manufacturer. We regret that her contract has now ended and she has decided to  
pursue personal interests with her husband and move abroad," says Stephen Saad, 
Aspen Holdings, Group Chief Executive.                                          
"Aspen is presently in advanced discussions with a number of suitably qualified 
candidates to replace Linda, and an announcement in this regard will be made    
imminently. The new incumbent will fill the position in the near future which   
will facilitate a smooth transition of responsibilities."
