STERLING DIVIDEND RATE                                                          
The Board of Lonmin Plc has previously announced a recommended final dividend of
42 cents per share payable on 16 February 2004.  This will be paid in sterling  
to UK shareholders calculated at the US dollar to sterling exchange rate on     
23 January 2004 and in dollars to all overseas shareholders, other than those on
the South African branch register who will receive Rand.  The US dollar to      
sterling exchange rate on 23 January 2004 was $1.8504/GBP1 and accordingly the  
sterling dividend payable is 22.70 pence per share.
