Today, Discovery announced the appointment of Richard Farber as Chief Financial 
Officer of Discovery Holdings effective 15 September 2003.                      
Farber is currently Group Accountant at Investec Limited. Previous experience   
includes working as a partner of audit firm Fisher Hoffman PKF and as a lecturer
at the Accounting Department at Wits University.                                
As an independent consultant, Farber also worked on the forensic investigation  
into the collapse of Siltek and The Business Bank Ltd. He was appointed as      
special investigator into the affairs of the Kooperatiewe Wijnbouwers           
Vereninging van Zuid-Afrika Bpkt (KWV) by the Minister of Agriculture and       
conducted a special investigation into the management and disclosure of the     
Forward Book of the South African Reserve Bank as well as the overall disclosure
in the Bank"s financial statements on behalf of the Auditor General.            
A qualified CA, Farber has a B. Com (Hons) from the University of the           
Witwatersrand.
