Company Limited ("Ashanti") concerning the proposed merger of Ashanti and       
AngloGold Limited ("AngloGold").                                                
Lonmin can confirm that, as a major shareholder in Ashanti, it is in discussion 
with AngloGold concerning the Company"s shareholding in Ashanti.
