In terms of paragraph 3.67 of the JSE Listings Requirements, the board of Aspen 
announces that Mr Rafique Bagus has been appointed to the board of Aspen as an  
independent non-executive director with effect from 11 March 2003.              
Mr Bagus is currently an executive director of Ferroman (Pty) Ltd, a joint      
venture company comprising an economic empowerment group, a South African       
engineering company and a multi-national company. This company specialises in   
the worldwide execution of projects and studies for all industrial projects,    
paying particular attention to the African continent.                           
Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Executive Officer, Trade and      
Investment South Africa, a division of the Department of Trade and Industry,    
which was tasked with the responsibility of promoting, developing and co-       
ordinating exports from and direct investment into South Africa.                
Mr Bagus has a BA (Hons) Economics and MA (Economics and Econometrics) from the 
University of the Western Cape. In addition he currently serves as a director to
the South African National Export Advisory Board, Secureco (Pty) Ltd and South  
to South (Pty) Ltd.
