declared for the six months to 28 February 2003, payable on Monday, 17 March    
2003.                                                                           
The last day on which shares will trade cum dividend will be Friday, 7 March    
2003. Shoprite Holdings Ltd preference shares will trade ex dividend as from    
Monday, 10 March 2003. The record date will be Friday, 14 March 2003.           
Share certificates may not be dematerialised or rematerialised between Monday,  
10 March 2003 and Friday, 14 March 2003, both days inclusive.
