Following the appointment of Mr P J Ledger as a Director of the Company on 21   
November 2002 Mr Ledger has today notified the Company in accordance with       
Section 324 of the Companies Act that :-                                        
(i)  He had a beneficial interest in 39,640 ordinary shares of US$1 each fully  
paid in Lonmin Plc held for him by The Lonmin Plc Share Trust in respect of The 
Lonmin Plc Share Plan (pursuant to which 40% and 60% of those shares will pass  
into his ultimate ownership on 1 January 2005 and 1 January 2007 respectively,  
subject normally to his remaining in the employment of the Lonmin Plc Group) and
in the share options of Lonmin Plc as reflected below

the 39,640 shares in which he is beneficially interested.
